PRSI Cover

Under this scheme, the Department of Social Protection provides the following financial cover towards dental services
One oral examination per year and a contribution towards a scale and polis/Periodontal treatment.
Balance payable towards scale and polish is 15 euro
The balance payable towards periodontal treatment will depend on the treatment required.

Who is eligible?

You must have paid Class A, E,P, H or S social insurance contributions
The amount of social insurance you need depends on your age.

Aged under 21

If you are under 21, you may qualify if you have paid at least 39 contributions at any time.

Aged 21-28

Between these ages, you may qualify if you have paid at least 39 contributions

Aged 29-65

From age 29 onwards you must have at least 260 paid contributions. At least 39 paid contributions in the governing contribution year
Or
26 paid contributions in each of the second and third last contribution years

Aged 66 and over

There are special rules for people aged 66 and over please contact DSW for list
